A spokesperson is an individual who basically is hired by a company that deals in cars to generally welcome customers to the company showroom and give a brief description on various car models available. They outline specific details that a customer does not know and clearly explains to them why they should purchase a certain model. Others will define them as people selected to speak or represent companies or people. Automotive spokesperson usually represents their companies in all matters regarding public relations.

The person is strictly advised to only give the company opinion irrespective of what they may probably be thinking. Sometimes people have their own opinion which is not the management opinion or represent management opinion in any way and so such opinion should be set aside and only give management opinion on a subject matter.

They take public related courses so that they can be at a position to handle public affairs. They are the people who generally make company announcements, request for a pressing briefing and address the press. They speech usually represents the views of the company management. A representative of a company should never speak his or her own words but what the company has agreed the public to hear.

The work mostly is done by popular people or celebrities. Some of the celebrities who have undertaken spokesperson job include the famous and hall of fame winner Michael Jordan and Bob Uecker. These two people are basically sport stars and that is why they are popular. Popular people send message wide and large. They are most listened to and command a big crowd of people.

There are many factors of consider when selecting a communication channel. Some of such factors include, availability of the channel, the following the channel has, the cost of using that channel, number of time that channel will air your announcements and lastly a channel that suits your company.

He or she ensures that all briefings to the public are made appropriately using the right channels. The person making the briefing should be a charismatic person, smart, intelligent, well groomed and organized. Organized person is able to organize his thoughts, ideas and work so that he can obviously give an organized presentation that people will enjoy and above all understand or get the intended message.

Select a channel that is readily available in your state. The availability of medium of communication is very important to a firm since it dictates how fast the company can respond to some issues through announcements and other relevant actions. The work of spokesperson involve making necessary announcements, doing all the company presentations in various forums, talking to customers on trade shows, answering questions from the press, customers or any other external party.

The spokesperson usually communicates with their external environment or the public and informs them on what the company is doing for them to give back to the community. They also gather information from the public and advise their company on matters regarding public relations. They do press briefing, carry out interviews and advise marketing department accordingly.
