Many Practical HMMWV Accessories To Choose From

By Joseph Jackson

Truck lovers usually own more than one type. And most of them dream of owning a beast as tough as an armored car. Gladly, a lot of military truck surplus, like a Humvee, came into the market for private collection. Owners now enjoy the pride of flaunting this monster truck in public. And the search for the best HMMWV accessories and improvements to adorn this highly prized catch, has always been a never ending talk among owners.

The proudest owner holds many trucks. But even the most modest collectors with less than three vehicles, may stand with wider grin if they own the beast. Yes, a Humvee, for many people, is a monster truck. It fits for a battle zone.

Fortunately, many war torn surplus of trucks can be found from many dealers. Some items may not actually have made it to the Gulf but who cares when the mere sight can already spark a wildest imagination. Plus the many accessories to be added magnify the already dominant appearance of them.

As Humvees undergone stages of improvements since its use in the Persian War of 1991, many nations also have come up with their own better reinventions. Other designs have adapted advanced security system incorporated into the vehicle. Improvements in design, like front and rear cameras, among other things, are now included. But still nothing bets the charm of the original as the steady line of collectors is consistently increasing.

The truck is very compact in design and size. It stands six feet and parts are light weight for fast access and maneuver. Diesel powers up the truck engine as this fuel is abundant in gulf regions. This vehicle has been manufactured in America by a single contractor since 1984 and the number of trucks completed amounts to almost a three hundred thousand.

Some other practical accessories are full rear bumper and a tire carrier. Surround LED inside and outside add a statement just what a new tint of paint can do. Mud flaps and netting racks are also good ideas. But many hesitate to touch the steering wheel as they might wrongly hack the ton limit.

After pulling out the door, the seats inside can also be adjusted for maximum capacity and utility. Tons of goods can be put inside as the car can carry nearly four tons of weight. And not to mention the bed of deck behind for additional space for goods and hitchers.

Many owners even succeeded in improving the steering wheel as some of these are already uncomfortable for drivers. Tire carrier and mud flaps are also the necessary accessories as Humvees are driven on rugged pavements and challenge flooding like rivers. Others also add the interiors with extra seats and rubber floor mats. Extra light bars for grabs are also useful.

Sun shields for windows and visors for hitchers and fragile goods situated backside are another wise upgrades. Added padding and lining on the metal deck should also in the checklist. And there are more many accessories as Humvees are fun to play around with improvements for most expansive purposes.
