When the parents allowed her, she began her career at kart level. This level involves a kart which has open-wheel motor sport with small, open and four-wheeled motor vehicle. Beginner level uses a kart since it is easy to use for basics before advancing to other levels. Live race events and video tutorials helped the girl to improve the driving techniques. She later practiced at public kart facilities since practice makes perfect.
Since hard work and commitment pays, Mckenna moved up the ranks to Box Stock Outlaws which she was among the top three racers. She then joined Restrictor or rather Open Micro Sprints after a significant performance in the previous rank. She competed in sixteen races where fourteen of them she had top ten finishes and one first-place performance in the Tulsa Shootout heat race. She later graduated 305 Sprint cars and competing in Knoxville Championship Cup.
In the spring level, she won three competitions, made five brilliant top ten finishes and became number two in the overall competition. The youngster becomes the best female in the history of car competitions. Besides, she won the famous most competitive Knoxville Raceway and kept a record to be recalled in future. Her dramatic performance made her a public figure which encouraged other young women and men in sports.
The Project Podium and Women Sports Foundation partnered with her, and this made her join other recognized women who are inspiring. She has started her empowering and nurturing foundation to help those who want to join motor racing after she gained experience. Moreover, she also works in an office working on the business part of her career.
